Over the last four years, writer Kim Ghattas has seen many parallels between the US and Lebanon, where she grew up: rising extremism, bigotry and increasing intolerance. Ghattas, a fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, speaks to The World’s Marco Werman from Beirut about the parallels between the US and the Middle East, and how to live with uncertainty.
