The Mexican town of Tlaxiaco is pretty remote, located in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. But it’s been getting a lot of attention lately in the American press because it’s the hometown of actress Yalitza Aparicio. She’s up for a Best Actress Oscar this weekend for her role in “Roma.” But the town also has a close connection to the US through a radio program that brings families in the US and Mexico closer together.
