Silvia Marchetti

Silvia Marchetti, 30, is a freelance journalist based in Rome. She has lived abroad most of her life, attending American schools in Geneva, Moscow, Jakarta and Rome. Marchetti graduated with a degree in foreign languages and literature from Rome’s University, has a masters degree in journalism and in 2006 passed the Italian state exam for professional journalists. She fluently speaks and writes in English, Italian and French. After a brief, boring carrier at the Italian Entrepreneurs’ Association and a disappointing internship at the European Commission, she passionately launched into full-time journalism writing stories on Italian politics, global affairs, economics, culture and society. Silvia contributes to several Italian and foreign newspapers and magazines.
