Selina Cuff

GlobalPost

Selina Cuff is a British journalist based in Nairobi. She reports from Africa for international publications that include The Independent, New African Woman and African Business.

Her work focuses mainly on cultural and social concerns affecting ordinary people in Africa, especially women’s issues.

Cuff studied Cultural History at university and it is this academic education that has drawn her to the cultural issues that affect Kenya, while her dalliances with feminism created a fascination for the plight of women.

Once upon a time she was a music journalist but after years of free gigs, albums, and celebrity egos found that she would rather give voice to the burning issues of the day than cover volatile musicians. Cuff left her native England and after stops in South Africa and Rwanda found herself in Kenya.
