Seven Iranian medical workers kidnapped in Libya were freed today after 65 days in captivity, CNN cited Iranian state news as saying.

The seven, all members of the Iranian Red Crescent medical group, were flown out of Benghazi today, according to unnamed officials cited by the semi-official ISNA news agency, reported CBS News. An interior ministry source confirmed to Agence-France Press today at the group had left the country.
They are reported to be in good health.
The Iranians were taken hostage by armed men in late July, said CNN, and their release has been the subject of intense lobbying efforts on the part of the Iranian government.
The Libyan Red Crescent had invited the Iranian delegation to visit for talks on cooperation, said AFP.
Kidnappings have risen in Libya in tandem with political instability following last year's overthrow of longtime leader Muammar Qaddafi.
