The Egyptian army deployed tanks and began clearing demonstrators and media from outside the presidential palace on Thursday, after overnight clashes between supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Morsi turned violent.
According to BBC News, yesterday's clashes left five dead and 644 injured. Opposition activists have called for more protests outside the palace on Thursday and neither side seems likely to back down, CBS News reported.
