Captured Turkish journalist Cuneyt Unal released in Syria

A Turkish journalist captured in Syria has been released.
Cuneyt Unal spent the last three months ago in captivity at the hands of government troops in Syria.
Turkey's state-run Anatolian news agency said on Saturday he was handed over to Turkish authorities and was on his way back home.
Unal and Jordanian colleague Bashar Fahmi work for al-Hurra television channel. They disappeared on August 20 after crossing into Syria from Turkey, Reuters reported.
The Associated Press said they were captured while covering fighting in the war torn city of Aleppo.
Turkish legislator Hasan Akgol said a Turkish delegation held talks with Syrian President Bashar Assad to gain his release.
"I am with our deputies and doing well," Unal told Anatolian, saying he had not been harmed.
Fahmi's whereabouts remain unknown.
