Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan just shared this photo on Instagram that looks like the sort of meme that usually gets circulated online. It says "you're beautiful" in English, with Arabic text above it.
Seems pretty harmless, right? Except the Arabic text in the image doesn't exactly mean "you're beautiful." It means "you're a donkey" or "you're a jackass" — depending on how angry your parents are. Either Lohan is trolling in Arabic, or she's managed to fall for an age-old trick, especially loved by bilingual kids.
This isn't Lohan's first attempt at making a questionable post in Arabic. Back in January, she posted an obituary for Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz with a phrase that translates to "I love and adore you, and you are the world to me."
Might be time to sign up for an Arabic course, Lindsay.
