Eric Justin Toth, child porn suspect on US most-wanted list, deported from Nicaragua

Child-porn suspect Eric Justin Toth, a D.C. elementary school teacher who replaced Osama bin Laden on the FBI's list of 10 most-wanted fugitives, has reportedly been deported from Nicaragua and to the US and will appear in federal court Tuesday in Washington.

CBS cited the head of detectives for Nicaragua's National Police force, Glenda Zavala, as saying that Toth, 31, was detained near the Honduran border.

Authorities said Toth was living under an assumed name.

Officials at Washington National Cathedral’s exclusive Beauvoir elementary school in 2008 found sexually explicit photographs of a student on a camera assigned to Toth.

They escorted him off campus and he had not been seen since.

He was added to the FBI's most-wanted list in April 2012 for allegedly possessing and producing child pornography, the Associated Press wrote, noting that the list is normally reserved for people sought in connection with violent crimes or terrorism.

Bin Laden and James "Whitey" Bulger, a suspected mass murderer and Boston mobster, were both featured on the list, which the FBI provides on its website.

The FBI said it added Toth because of his Internet skills and "alleged penchant for grooming children made him especially dangerous."

The agency had offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest.

Zavala said police moved in based on an international detention request.

Toth had been on the run for nearly five years.
