Where Everybody Knows Your Name

The Takeaway

Sometimes, especially in these trying times, we just need to go to a place where everybody knows our name. And who knows this better than the famous Boston bar Cheers.
Thomas Kershaw has owned Cheers since 1969. Used as the exterior for the hugely popular TV series in the 1980s and 90s, the bar became a household name, and its characters became friends of every viewer.
But despite its fame, Cheers is also just a neighborhood pub, where people know each other, or get to know each other over a cold beer.
