Seattle’s mayor wants to combat sprawl through a concept of “urban villages,” which would channel growth into higher-density neighborhoods. Some see the idea as a model for all cities, but others say people aren’t ready to be told where to live or build.
Without federal support, local stations, especially in rural and underserved areas, face deep cuts or even closure.
