‘Troll 2’: the best worst movie?

The World

For this week’s movie segment, we’re talking with the star and the director of “Best Worst Movie,” a documentary about the most poorly reviewed movie (perhaps ever): “Troll 2.”

Both IMDB.com and rottentomatoes.com give “Troll 2” a “zero,” and most of the film’s stars say they’re embarrassed to admit appearing in it. And yet, thousands of rabid fans around the world stand in line to see the film whenever it screens. “Troll 2” viewing parties take place year round from Los Angeles to the Green Zone in Iraq. And at least one fan has a “Troll 2” tattoo.

We want to know: What’s the worst movie that you love to watch?

Michael Paul Stephenson is the director of “Best Worst Movie.” It’s no coincidence Stephenson knew about the film: He was the child star of “Troll 2.” Dr. George Hardy starred as Michael’s dad in “Troll 2” and appears as himself in “Best Worst Movie.”
