The US’s forgotten occupation of Haiti

The World

A little-known part of US history is that our country once occupied Haiti. A new documentary looks at that occupation 100 years ago. The director shows the brutality and terrible economic impact of the 19-year occupation, and how it’s set Haiti up as a country continually on the brink of collapse. Amy Bracken reports.
