French moving to right as local elections loom

If opinion polls are correct, then France is poised to swing to the right over the course of local elections taking place over two rounds starting this Sunday. Could Paris — which has been run by a Socialist party for a quarter of a century — buck the trend? The result is predicted to be tight.
