Albert Laguna, an associate professor of American studies and Ethnicity, Race and Migration at Yale University, taught a new class last semester called “Bad Bunny: Musical Aesthetics and Politics.” The course put Bad Bunny’s Grammy-winning music into context and taught students about the colonial relationship between Puerto Rico and the United States, a key theme Bad Bunny explores in his lyrics. Last September, Bianca Hillier went to Yale’s campus to learn more.
