Thailand on Wednesday cut the power to large criminal compounds just across its border with Myanmar. Located in semi-lawless areas, the jungle compounds are notorious for scamming — and raking in billions of dollars. Thai authorities say they’re cracking down on these places that kidnap and hold thousands of workers from Thailand and China, to text and call victims around the globe.
