Ontario passes law to remove bike lanes in Toronto

Cities around the globe are looking for ways to improve bike infrastructure, with varying degrees of success. In Paris, bicycle use now exceeds car use. In Los Angeles, officials have promised to increase the number of bike lanes ahead of the 2028 Olympics. But Toronto is moving in the opposite direction — with legislation allowing the removal of bike lanes. That’s led to a showdown between officials and bicycle advocates.
