The problem is now so bad that the city has banned picnics and imposed curfews after residents were attacked. Swine fever (fortunately, harmless to humans) is running rampant among the boar population, and officials have prolonged the hunting season to try and control it — but with tourists about to descend on Rome in record numbers, it’s hard to see how this problem will go away.
