Saeb Erekat, a veteran Palestinian peace negotiator and spokesman for the Palestinian cause, died on Tuesday after contracting COVID-19. The 65-year-old was involved in nearly every round of peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians since the 1990s. Even as negotiations stagnated over the years, Erikat consistently advocated for the two-state solution, which he said was his destiny in life.
