Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, 1 month later

The clothes you wear could be made with forced labor, but that could change with a new law. The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act has been in effect for one month now, intended to disrupt connections to Xinjiang, China. It prohibits the import of any goods with ties to the region unless companies can absolve themselves of using forced labor. More than 100,000 Uyghur Muslim are working against their will in factories that are major producers for key industries like apparel and solar. Human rights lawyer Rayhan Asat joins The World’s Marco Werman to explain how US companies are beginning to change their practices to adhere to this law.
