US climate emissions responsible for $1.8 trillion of economic losses across our planet, study says

Building back after a flood or a fire is expensive, and someone’s got to pay. It’s hard to put a price tag on the climate crisis, but doctoral candidate at Dartmouth College Christopher Callahan has done just that. He tells host Marco Werman about a new study out this week in journal Climatic Change that linked the cost of the climate crisis to the world’s biggest emitters. Topping the list are the US and China, who are each responsible for more than $1.8 trillion worth of economic loss from 1990 to 2014.
