To save the birds, conservationists must kill all the mice on Marion Island

Mice are plaguing tiny, uninhabited Marion Island located southeast of South Africa in the Indian Ocean. The island is home to millions of seabirds, including albatrosses and four species of penguins. But an invasive mouse population is threatening the birds, and they need to go, say conservationists. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks to Keith Springer, operations manager for the Mouse-Free Marion project, about the global challenge of removing pests from islands.
