A once-elegant city in eastern Ukraine, Bakhmut, has become the main battlefield in this near year-long war. Yaroslav Trofimov, the chief foreign-affairs correspondent at The Wall Street Journal has recently returned from the besieged city. Trofimov talks with The World’s Marco Werman about why so much is riding on the fight to control Bakhmut.
