The race to replace Germany’s Angela Merkel after 16 years in office is over. Germany’s center-left SPD won the most seats, setting up their leader Olaf Scholz as the country’s next chancellor. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Constanze Stelzenmüller, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, to dissect the results and what they mean for Germany going forward.
