Pushback continues against East African crude oil pipeline

Once completed, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline — running from western Uganda to the coast of Tanzania — will be the longest electrically heated oil pipeline in the world. The Ugandan and Tanzanian governments have promoted the project as an opportunity for economic development, employment and energy security. But in western Uganda, there are major concerns about how the pipeline could negatively impact the people who live there. The World’s Halima Gikandi reports from Hoima, Uganda.
