The Trump administration is pushing forward with a new plan for a power-sharing government in Venezuela as the South American nation struggles with a collapsed economy and the looming threat of the coronavirus pandemic. The World’s Jorge Valencia spoke with two recent US ambassadors to Venezuela who explain why the US is taking this action and the potential it has to break a stalemate in the yearslong international effort to oust Nicolás Maduro from power.
