Western Europe is considered the heartland of Catholicism, and yet Pope Francis often prefers visiting other parts of the world. As Pope, he’s never been to Madrid or Paris. But he has flown to Bangladesh, South Sudan and Egypt, spending time with small, sometimes embattled Catholic communities. Today the Pope arrives in a country with hardly any Catholics at all — Mongolia — to send a message that none of his followers will be overlooked. The World’s Patrick Winn reports.
