NAFTA visa

With ongoing talks to revamp the 24-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), a little-known visa allowed under NAFTA may be in jeopardy. It allows US employers to bring in Canadian and Mexican workers for skilled jobs in certain job categories, such as nursing and agriculture. They’re good for three years and can renewed indefinitely. Our Global Nation Editor Monica Campbell talks to Marco Werman about the NAFTA visa from the perspective of both the US employer and the Canadian and Mexican worker.
