Many migrants face increasing danger as US border restrictions remain 

At least four people died after a boat hit rocks in rough weather and broke apart off the coast of Southern California on May 2. US officials report seeing more people taking journeys like this in order to enter the US. The rise coincides with growing concerns that Donald Trump-era pandemic restrictions at the US-Mexico border, which allow immigration officials to automatically turn back migrants at the border, are forcing migrants, including asylum-seekers, to embark on such risky cross-border attempts. The World’s Monica Campbell speaks with host Marco Werman about why people are increasingly taking these risks.
