In the global race to create the first viable clones, scientist Hwang Woo-suk was at the front of the pack. His story is the focus of a new documentary on Netflix, “King of Clones.” Hwang cloned thousands of animals, with dreams of cloning humans. In the early 2000s, Hwang was exposed for procuring human eggs unethically, and fabricating data, leading to his downfall. He now lives in the United Arab Emirates where he clones show camels for royals. The World’s Marco Werman speaks to the director and producer behind the film: Aditya Thayi.
