Indian government touts malaria drug for COVID-19, but not its physicians

India is the world’s largest producer of the anti-malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, and it’s making more of it in response to endorsements from President Donald Trump. Dr. Shriprakash Kalantri of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Maharashtra tells host Marco Werman the drug is not a “magic bullet” and asks why fellow Indians are also promoting it.
