In Germany, efforts at countering extremism are aimed at youth

Far-right extremism is on the rise in Germany. It’s evident in recent anti-lockdown protests, in the politics of the Alternative for Germany party, and arrests of German police and soldiers who expressed an affinity for radical right-wing ideology. Advocacy groups are addressing the problem by trying to reach German youth before hateful ideologies take hold of their thinking. Could there be lessons here for the United States as American authorities figure out how to respond to the sort of extremism on display at the US Capitol Building on Jan. 6? Ryan Delaney reports from Germany.
