In Australia’s lockdown, a plea for a singles social bubble 

More than half of Australia’s population is under lockdown again. Lockdown rules in New South Wales, which includes Sydney, the country’s most populous city, allow visits only from an intimate partner. Single people there say defining the singles bubble in terms of sex is silly (what if the relationship started a week before lockdown?) but more importantly, it deprives them of a much-needed human connection during lockdown. Marco Werman speaks with Australian playwright and journalist Melanie Tait, who wants the government of New South Wales to change the rule.
