Heat waves on the ocean floor have far-reaching impacts

The ocean floor is one of the coldest, darkest places in the world. But according to scientists, it’s getting warmer. A new study out this week in Nature Communications finds that parts of the ocean floor has been having heat waves. And these heat waves can have far-reaching impacts for fisheries and ocean currents. The World’s Marco Werman speaks to NOAA research scientist Dillon Amaya about the study.
