Haiti’s capital comes to a standstill over kidnappings

One of the most notorious gangs in Haiti is holding a group of American missionaries, including children, hostage. The country has the highest kidnapping rate in the world. The threat of being taken hostage is one that Haitians — rich and poor alike — face every day. The World’s Monica Campbell, who is in Haiti, says bus and taxi drivers have gone on strike to protest the dangerous streets, bringing Port-au-Prince to a standstill.
