Last year the Trump administration decided to close the office that kept track of released Guantánamo detainees. Carol Rosenberg of McClatchy says now many of those former captives have vanished, and at least one has turned up in a rebel-controlled area of Syria.Also, sources close to President Trump say he’s “almost certain” to fire Kirstjen Nielsen, the secretary of the Homeland Security Department. Juliette Kayyem, a former Homeland Security official, tells host Marco Werman that Nielsen was known as a moderate until she moved to the right to placate Trump.
