Contaminated cough syrup has killed more than 300 children

The World Health Organization is calling for “immediate action” to protect children from contaminated cough syrup that has killed more than 300 children in Asia and Africa. The syrup has been linked to pharmaceutical manufacturers in India. The World’s Marco Werman discusses the story with Dinesh Thakur, a former pharmaceutical executive in India who became a whistleblower after he revealed that his company was violating safety regulations. Thakur is author of the book, “The Truth Pill: The Myth of Drug Regulation in India.”
