In response, Meta’s blocked access to news content on Facebook and Instagram for Canadian users. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Ahmed AlRawi, associate professor at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, about the response from Canada’s government to Facebook’s decision, and how Canadians can manage to stay informed amid raging wildfires affecting the country.
