In its final days in office, the Trump administration hastily withdrew most, if not all, of its 700 soldiers in Somalia, and repositioned them in neighboring countries.The move leaves Biden’s policymakers with limited options in Somalia, among them increasing reliance on drone warfare. Hussein Sheikh-Ali heads the Hiraal Institute, a Mogadishu-based research center. He joins us from the Somali capital.
