The World

Hong Kong-based journalist Ilaria Maria Sala was an exchange student in Beijing in April 1989, when students started marching to Tiananmen Square to take part in what became a massive protest. We now know how those protests ended in June of that year. But Sala tells host Marco Werman about the days before the crackdown, when there was real hope for China’s future.
