A new international inquiry into US police violence

After George Floyd’s death, the United Nations Human Rights Council considered creating a commission to investigate police violence in the US. That didn’t happen but as The World’s Rupa Shenoy reports, people who felt the inquiry was necessary didn’t give up. The International Association of Democratic Lawyers, the National Conference of Black Lawyers and the National Lawyers Guild have organized an independent inquiry to report to the UN, made up of well-known human rights activists from around the world.
