In Egypt, the attack on free speech has perhaps reached its worst point yet since the Arab uprisings. Most recently, three prominent human rights activists were held on terrorism charges for meeting with Western diplomats. They’ve been released, but the few remaining human rights activists are scared to speak. There’s been a dramatic uptick in executions despite vocal criticism from the international community.
