Content moderators worldwide organize to demand better work conditions

Content moderators see the worst of the internet so that end users don’t have to. They sift through graphic posts, hate speech and other problematic content on popular social media platforms, and decide what can stay up and what needs to come down. The vast majority are contractors who work in precarious conditions for relatively low wages. Now some of them are beginning to organize to demand better treatment. The World’s Lydia Emmanouilidou reports.
