In states like California, in shelter-in-place mode because of the coronavirus, farmworkers are considered essential. They still go out and work. But there are increasing concerns about their safety on the job and whether farmworkers, particularly the many undocumented workers, will have access to the same rights and benefits offered to other essential workers.
