Digital Empathy

MIT Sociologist Sherry Turkle says smartphones create distance in real life, and cause people to craft a persona rather than to really connect. She says this change means young people are growing up with impaired empathy. Meanwhile, students Chinyere Amanze from Duke University and Monique LaBorde of UNC-Chapel Hill answer questions about racial sensitivity, trigger warnings, and being lumped in with all the other millennials.
