Teen Porn Industry Exposed in ‘Hot Girls Wanted’

Consider this: Netflix is the single biggest driver of internet bandwidth, accounting for over one-third of all downstream usage during prime time hours.

But if we step away from single companies and look at genres instead, there’s one category that receives more visitors each month than Netflix, Amazon, and Twitter combined. And that category is pornography.

Earlier this week, The Takeaway spoke with the women behind the new documentary “Hot Girls Wanted” about the realities of the teen porn industry. Click on the audio player above to hear our special extended interview with co-directors Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus, and producer Rashida Jones.

And while some people may see teen porn as a simple fantasy, there are thousands of real 18- and 19-year-old girls who provide the content that feeds online porn sites. Rachel, a 19-year-old woman featured in the documentary, also shares her story of escaping the teen porn business.
