Throughout our history, PRI has distinguished itself as a nimble organization, able to anticipate and respond to the needs of stations and audiences as we fulfill our mission: to serve as a distinctive content source for information, insights and cultural experiences essential to living in an interconnected world. Fiscal year 2012 was no different.

Every day, in countless ways, we see the implications of our changing world. More and more, people are turning to digital devices to consume news, using them to share, to interact and to learn. These new consumer expectations require a dynamic response, inspiring us to deliver our unique stories in new ways.

In this environment, we launched and we led—over and over again. Just a few highlights: We expanded our relationship with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and identified new voices for broadcast. We built upon our existing distribution and technology expertise allowing people to engage more deeply with our content. And we co-led the State Integrity Investigation, inspiring millions of people to become more invested in state government.

We also developed an even deeper relationship with WGBH, one of PRI’s founders and long-time production partner of “PRI’s The World®.” We pursued this strategic partnership, finalized in early FY13, to access new skills and insights that

will enable us to create more content, and reach even more people in more ways as we look forward to the future. Together, PRI and WGBH will create the largest radio, audio, video,

TV and mobile ecosystem in public media.

PRI continues to be a successful, independent non-profit media organization that genuinely engages people through powerful stories, connects human beings and cultures around the globe, and seeks to affect positive change. Our many partners— including producers, stations, donors, talent, sponsors and, most importantly, audiences—are a source of constant encouragement and inspiration in this always exciting, ever- changing world.
