Year of the dragon promises good luck

Asian families around the world reunited today to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, a symbol some consider especially promising.
Fireworks, feasting and prayers ushered in the Lunar New Year across many parts of Asia. The dragon is an ancient symbol once reserved for the emperor, CBS News said.
In China, however, many dread making the trip home, said Voice of America. An estimated 3 billion trips are made at this time of year.
The Chinese zodiac sign of the dragon signifies strength, benevolence and good luck, VOA said.
As the longest and most revered holiday in China, the new year begins on the first day of the Chinese calendar and lasts for 15 days, ending on a full moon, said The Daily Mail.
