BOSTON — We at GlobalPost relish the annual lists on pop culture, style and entertainment letting us know what we should make sure to know about for the coming year and what’s no longer as hip as we might think.

So why not do the same with global news? We put our heads together to identify stories and trends that have waned and waxed in 2009. Look at the outs for stories that are on the way out, and the ins for stories, places and people we think you’ll be hearing more about in 2010.
