African Wild Dogs in South Africa face extinction unless man can protect the fast-vanishing species from other men who view killing the dogs as a rite of passage.

Wild Dogs from Kruger National Park (pictured) are of the same species as the population living in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, but because of subtle genetic variations, mixing the two populations would lead to problems with inbreeding and pack stability.
